In Reply To What can cause my car to stall at idle, only when cold? posted by Marshall on June 04, 2012 at 02:23 PM

Message I checked my AAC valve and I see that there is infinite resistance between the pins. It appears to be bad. Also, when I change the settings in Nissan Data Scan from one extreme to the other it makes no difference.

I was able to adjust the idle when it was warmed up using the screw, but as you can imagine it's not perfect with that bad AAC.

I got it running somewhat smoothly and I needed to do some test drives, but I needed to get the car inspected first. Unfortunately the car failed emissions.

Carbon Monoxide:
Allowable: 1.10
My result: 1.23

Hydrocarbons:
Allowable: 275
My result: 390

Oxides of Nitrogen:
Allowable: 3600
My result: 6450

RPM: 1597

Dilution: 15.8%

Is it even possible for my car to pass with no AIVs, no EGR, and a SZ high flow cat? Who can I take my Z to in the Philly area to get it inspected? Hopefully it just needs some minor work.
